Old cabinet tone, proudly polished with one or two light contact marks, minor obverse edge bruise at 5 o’clock, otherwise a pleasing fine. Private John Ives, of Dorking, Surrey, enlisted for service with the Scots Guards at Maidstone, Kent, on the 6th of December 1813, having previously served with the West Kent Militia. He served for a total of 9 years and 262 days, being discharged on the 24th of August 1821. He was present at Waterloo, and served in Lieutenant-Colonel Henry Rooke’s Company. Sold with copy roll mention, and ‘statement of service’ papers.
