Life Guards) surname re-engraved, fitted with steel clip and small ring suspension, contact marks and edge bruising, otherwise nearly very fine £600-700 Footnote Ex Seaforth Collection 1870, and Sotheby June 1886. John Hopes was discharged in the rank of Corporal to pension at the Roual Hospital, Chelsea, on 11 October 1826. He was then aged 31, having enlisted in November 1814, a native of Stanmore, Westmoreland, a carpenter by trade.
