Wasli , Arabic manuscript on paper, a line of large naskh above a narrower panel of three lines of smaller script, all within gold and floral illuminated clouds, probably Ottoman, signed by 'Abd al-Baqi al-Tabrizi and dated AH 997/1588-9 AD , (some spotting and surface wear) - 4¼ x 8¼in. (10.6 x 20.8cm.); illuminated Qur'an folio , 6ll. of black naskh in gold clouds, illuminated outer borders - 8 x 5in. (20.3 x 12.9cm.); two calligraphic exercises , one with lines of Persian shikasteh - 6½ x 4in. (16.5 x 10.2cm.), the other with a phrase composed on minute lines of alternately coloured script on dark ground, similar circular border, the interstices decorated with arabesques, signed by Muhammad Nuri al-Siwasi and dated AH 1347/1928-9 AD - 11¾ x 14in.
