(including a volume of manuscript), 8vo, dark green crushed levant morocco, covers gilt panelled, spines in six compartments, gilt and gilt-lettered; red morocco doublures, richly gilt with a dentelle border, fawn watered silk doublures, t.e.g., others uncut, spines faded to brown, headcap of vol. VII very slightly chipped, other minor rubbing to spine bands, a few inner joints cracked . LIMITED "AUTOGRAPH EDITION" no. 448 of 612 copies, signed by the publishers and the editor Thomas R. Lounsbury, with one page of manuscript and a 1 1/2 page autograph letter by Warner bound at front of vol. I, illustrated. [ with ] WARNER, C.D. Autograph manuscript signed, entitled "The Education of Sam," 25 pages, 8vo, written in black ink on the rectos of 25 leaves, bound up as the final volume of the set above, in uniform binding, filled out with blank paper. A short story about a dog, the last nine lines, including the signature, and some other additions or revisions in blue ink. (16)
