Contemporary three-quarters calf over marbled boards. 11 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches (30 x 24 cm); Vol. I with main title dated 1813, index and nos. 1-52, dated 27 June 1812-15 June 1813; Vol. II with title page dated 1814, index and nos. 53-104, dated 22 June 1813-14 June 1814; Vol. III without separate title (issued?), nos. 105-117, dated 21 June 1814-[24 February 1817], index at end. Small puncture to main title not affecting text, some spotting and short tears, front board detaching, a typed ownership note attached to front free endpaper, some various signatures and inscriptions of the Greenleaf family, a sound and well preserved copy overall. A complete run of this War of 1812 periodical which was forced to suspend operations in September 1814 for fear that New York City would be captured by the British. The printing resumed in early 1817 at which time the full run could be purchased bound, likely the source of this copy. C
