First Edition. The best single work on the disruptions to law and order in Montana in the 1860's, well-written and comprehensive, taking a larger, more historical view of the proceedings than Dimsdale's first-hand account. Adams calls it "One of the standard works on the Montana vigilantes and the Plummer gang of road agents." Adams Six-guns 1280; Graff 2390; Howes L78; Smith 5684. Lot Amendments Condition: Light wear to spine ends, a few small spots to cloth; dampstain to fore edge of a few leaves in Vol. 1; else very good. Item number: 186060
