Collation: [a8], b-z8, &8, )8, Rx8, A-V8. 357 (of 366) leaves, 62 lines of commentary around text, Scotus' small black-on-white woodcut device on penultimate page. Lacking leaves 78 through 86 (l6-m6). Woodcut initials. (Folio) 11¼x7¾, recased and rebound in modern full vellum, spine lettered by hand (incorrectly dated 1494 at foot), yapp edges. Scarce incunabula edition of Virgil's works including Aeneid and Georgics. With the commentaries of Servius, Landinus, Mancinellus, Donatus and Calderinus. Goff V189; Proctor 5329; BMC V 432;Copinger 6072 Lot Amendments Condition: Some spotting to vellum; restoration to first 6 leaves with some loss of text, chip in outer margin of approximately 45 leaves (t2-&8) with some loss of printed marginalia, small worm tunnel at center of first 12 leaves, some dampstaining, ink and embossed stamps of the Royal Historical Society on several leaves; else very good.
