A magnificent record of the funeral of Charles Emmanuel II, Duke of Savoy from 1638 to 1675, giving an account of his short illness, death and funeral service. The series of 5 fine large folding plates detail the elaborate structures and decorations created for the event: the catafalque with the body, the Piazza Castello with the funeral procession showing the old facade of Palazzo Madama, view of the cathedral entrance, and two wonderful views of the high altar of the cathedral decorated with skeletons.
