First work lacking the double-page woodcut map as often, and 3 preliminary gatherings, triangular section lacking from center of title; second work title with tape stain down gutter and early ink inscription, lacking one text leaf. Very occasional small waterstains and toning, binding worn and discolored. Both works contain references to America. Vadian's Epitome "skilfully sought to place the tools of geography in the hands of laymen" (McLean, The Cosmographia of Sebastian Münster, p 112). Sabin calls for 14 preliminary leaves in the first work that are not present here, however many institutional copies appear not to have them either. Sabin 98279.
