Early/mid 19th century Comprising two oban prints: the first by Kunisada, a parody of Soshi Arai Komachi (Lady Komachi Washing Away a Poem) from the series Nana Komachi (Seven Komachi) showing the poetess washing away a manuscript in order to clear her name after being accused of plagiarising an ancient poem, with censor's seal Kiwame, published by Kawaguchiya Uhei, signed Gototei Kunisada ga; the second by Eisen, an aizuri-e of Ogiyauchi Hashigodate from the series Yoshiwara Bijin (Beauties in Yoshiwara), with censor's seal Kiwame, published by Tsutaya Kichizo, signed Keisai Eisen ga. The smaller 35.5cm x 24.1cm (14in x 9½in), the larger 36.5cm x 24.5cm (14 3/8in x 9 5/8in), both framed and glazed. (2).
