Beschreibung:

UNUSUAL DIAMOND, PEARL AND GOLD TASSEL CLIP BROOCH Designed as a pavé and old mine-cut diamond twisted scroll, termiated with two detachable old mine-cut diamond foliate motifs, one suspending three flexible old mine and old European-cut diamond lines, the other suspending a pearl tassel, mounted in platinum and 18K gold By Boivin This clip brooch, signed by Rene Boivin, was ingeniously created by inverting a horn of plenty where, instead of fruit cascading downward, diamonds fall from one tulip-shaped section while pearls fall from another. Both diamond and pearl waterfalls are detachable so the brooch can be worn in a number of ways, a typical feature of the late 1940's when desingers created multifunctional jewelry. Boivin's jewelry is eminently wearable, surely a testament to his relationship with his wife's brother, the couturier, Paul Poiret
