Beschreibung:

Typed letter signed ("Albert Camus"), to the Belgium resistance widow, Ninette Hélène Jeanty, declining to contribute a note to her journal which he has read with great interest, as any comment of his would merely diminish the truth and simplicity of her account ("...Je me suis renforcé en même temps dans l'opinion que mes commentaries n'y a jouteraient rien et qu'ils diminueraient au contraire la vérité et la simplicité de ces notations..."), and returning the manuscript, one page, filing-holes, 8vo, NRF, Paris, 18 July 1952; together with a half-tone portrait of Albert Speer from a photograph, with a long affectionate inscription to her on the mount; plus typed letters signed to her by Jawahal Nehru ("...I have read the statement you have sent with much interest and sympathy..."), Indira Gandhi (on the 5th anniversary of UNESCO and 2500th of the Buddha), and Henry Kissinger (two letters, writing about his seminar work in 1954 and praising her work for refugees in 1982)
