The War Department has disclosed that the DuPont Company played an important part…” Carpenter was quick to point out, in his attached printed statement, that DuPont “did not, and does not, make atomic bombs” In her written notes, Mrs. Jones notes that both her husband and brother were among the first engineers cleared by the FBI for the Hanford work.
