Beschreibung:

TWO SILVER-GILT WINE COOLERS AND LINERS maker's mark of William Eley II, London, one 1828, the other 1830 Vase-shaped, each on spreading circular waved sea foam base and with similar everted rim, the body applied with cast trailing vines and with vine tendril handles, with plain collars and liners, the wine coolers engraved twice with coats-of-arms, the liners and collars with a crest within the collar of the Guelphic Order, marked on neck, collars and liners - 11¾in. (29.8cm.) high 325ozs. (10,124grs.) The arms are those of Fuller and Fuller acollé with Floyd for Lieutenant General Sir Joseph Fuller G.C.H. (d.1841) and his wife Mary, eldest daughter of Sir John Floyd Bt., whom he married in 1815. General Fuller was appointed ensign Coldstream Guards in 1792. He saw active service with the regiment in France, Spain and Portugal. He was made a General in 1838. He died at his house in Bryanston Square on 16 October 1841. (2)
