Lot of 2. Quarter plate ambrotype of Western mining town general store with large stores of lumber. A group of about 10 men in front of the store sit and stand on a wood porch wearing mostly wide brim hats, one with a prospector's hat. A man with a wide brim hat and a women with a light bonnet are driving a wagon with a team of horses that are parked directly in front of the store. Lumber is neatly stacked along the side of the store. A small sign hangs on the front of the store but it's to small to read the lettering. Focus is sharp with very good contrast. Condition is fine. In half case, circa: 1858-1865. Quarter plate tintype showing workers building a structure working on large beams with various woodworking tools and some structures in the background. (One of the tools being operated is a large hand drill for making holes in the beams for dowel pegs.) Focus is very good with very good contrast. In half case; emulsion beginning to bubble upper left and some worn along left side of mat.
