MARK OF PAUL STORR LONDON, TWO 1809 AND TWO 1810, ONE PAIR WITH MARK OF WILLIAM BATEMAN, LONDON, 1828 ON HANDLES AND BORDER BENEATH HANDLES
TWO PAIRS OF GEORGE III SILVER ENTREE-DISHES, COVERS AND OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE STANDS MARK OF PAUL STORR LONDON, TWO 1809 AND TWO 1810, ONE PAIR WITH MARK OF WILLIAM BATEMAN, LONDON, 1828 ON HANDLES AND BORDER BENEATH HANDLES Each oblong and with gadrooned borders, the domed covers engraved twice with a coat-of-arms, with lion mask and foliage handles, on conforming Old Sheffield plate stands, marked on dish, inside cover and on handle, the first pair further marked on cover border 14 1/4 in. (36 cm.) wide over handles 295 oz. 10 dwt. (9,192 gr.) The arms are those of Neave impaling Digby for Sir Thomas Neave, 2nd Bt. (1761-1848) and his wife Francis Caroline (d.1835), daughter of the Very Rev. Hon. William Digby Dean of Durham, whom he married in 1791.
