TWO GERMAN HALBERDS; AND A EUROPEAN MILITARY CEREMONIAL AXE The first late 16 t h Century; the second 19 t h Century The first two each with long central spike of stiff-diamond section, small axe-blade with concave cutting edge, flat beak-shaped rear fluke, open socket extending to a pair of straps, and each on a fluted rectangular wooden haft fitted with an additional pair of iron straps (one heavily pitted, the point of the spike bent); and the axe with massive iron head with convex cutting edge, robust rear spike and central spike, each of stiff-diamond section, and on its original long haft with brass shoe.
