TWO FRAMED COURTLY SCENE NEEDLEWORKS LATE 16TH/EARLY 17TH CENTURY Both fragments, now on canvas ground, modern framed and glazed, the first with scene of pastoral love, figures within garden setting, the second with noble woman with attendants, pet bird on her wrist both panels 54.5 x 66cm, the frames 73.5 x 85cm and 72 x 87cm Provenance: Private Collection, Hampshire Condition Report: Wear, marks, knocks edge/gilt losses and scratches to frames as per age, handling, use, and cleaning. The needleworks both fragments- so with trimmed/tidied edges, colour muting- both unexamined out of glass but visible signs of old spot repairs and restitching.
