Two Daguerreotypes: American School, 19th Century, Sixth-plate Daguerreotype of Two Girls with Bonnets, and Andrew J. Simpson (American, fl. 1850s), Hand-tinted Sixth-plate Daguerreotype of a Woman, stamped "SIMPSON" and "LOWELL" on brass mat, l.l. and l.r., respectively, both in embossed leather cases. Condition: The first with tarnish, dust, split spine with repair, case worn and abraded especially at edges and corners, several areas of corrosion along right side of package, velvet pad lightly faded; the second with minor tarnish, light dust, case worn with some abraded areas, velvet liner faded and worn; not examined out of cases. Provenance: A private New England collection.
