[Nuremberg:] Christian de Launoy, 1763 [i.e. preface dated 1764]. Large folio, 510 x 355 mm., nineteenth-century dark green morocco gilt with inset cloth panels on sides, green morocco gilt-lettered label on upper cover, marbled edges, slightly scuffed and hinges reinforced . FIRST EDITION. 10 hand-colored plates, one of them double-page, by J.C. Keller and A.L. Wirsing after G.W. Baurenfeind (plates 6 and 8), G.D. Ehret (plate 2), N.F. Eisenberg (plate 4), Keller (plates 5, 7 and 9) and M.M. Payerlein (plates 1 and 10). A FINE FRESH COPY of Decas I of the intended supplement to Plantae Selectae (see preceding lot).
