Signed and dated "Robert Frost, Lexington 1948" along with a .10¢ Robert Frost postage stamp on the front free endpaper. Also, with three pictorial bookplates on the front pastedown, two from William Dutton (on signed) and one from Thelma Dutton. Both were long-time Los Angeles bookseller's, of which their son still continues the business. First issue with the word "roams" on the last line on page 44 and without the words "First edition" on the copyright page. A limited edition of 1000 copies was also published by Henry Holt at the same time; this being one of only 8400 copies without a first edition statement. Lot Amendments Condition: Mild wear to spine ends and corners, light rubbing, spine a bit darkened; two old and small tape stains on rear free endpaper; very good or better. Scarce.
