Signed in pencil by Leonard Baskin in the colophon. Baskin (1922-2000) is widely considered one of the preeminent figures of 20th century American Art. Creatively active for over five decades as a sculptor, printmaker, painter, illustrator, critic, book publisher, and educator, Baskin represents a powerful voice both visually and intellectually. Baskin’s art has received many awards and honors and has permanent collections in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA, The Nation Museum of American Art, the Vatican Museum, etc. This is one of his scarce limited fine press titles, done in only 26 total copies.
