In the 1670s, the illustrations accompanied his famous lectures on the effect of the passions on human expression, brought before "l'Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture". Ill. with title and full-page pls by J. Tinney (fl. 1729-1761), showing and naming each expression, with a description underneath. Ref. ESTC N- COPAC (2). - Not in BL.
