THREE RUBY NECKLACES
THREE RUBY NECKLACES Comprising three necklaces, each set with thirty-nine oval and circular-cut rubies, mounted in 22k yellow gold, 51.4, 47.3 and 43.8 cm long Accompanied by report no. 76383 dated 24 September 2014 from the SSEF Swiss Gemmological Institute stating that the rubies weighing approximately 160.00 carats total are of Burmese (Myanmar) origin, with no indications of heating and the colour of part of these rubies may also be called 'pigeon's blood red' in the trade; also accompanied by an appendix stating that the natural ruby necklace possess extraordinary characteristics and merits special mention and appreciation. The necklace is very impressive and the rubies have been carefully selected for this jewellery item to match in their attractive and vivid colour and in their fine quality. The small inclusions found by microscopic inspection are the hallmarks of rubies from the reputed ruby mines in Mogok and Mong Hsu, both located in the green hills of northern Burma (Myanmar). Their vivid and saturated colour - for part of the rubies poetically also referred to as "pigeon's blood red" - is due to a combination of well-balanced trace elements in these gemstones, characteristics for the finest rubies from Burma (Myanmar). The rubies have been spared exposure to heat treatment and their colour and purity are thus all natural. Assembling a large and matching selection of natural rubies from Burma of such a quality is rare and exceptional (3)
