Lot of 4, featuring safari-themed mechanical puzzle, 5.25 x 6.25 in., on thick card stock, titled Puzzle of Teddy and the Lion. Printed by Sackett & Wilhelms Co., NY. Issued as an advertising novelty for the Moss Rose Flour made by the Thoman Milling Co., Lansing MI, whose advertisement appears on recto and verso. The puzzle dates from 1909, when Roosevelt had traveled to Africa for a safari and game hunting. The central disc rotates and the user must determine "Which Black Man Turns Into a Yellow Lion?," as printed along bottom edge of puzzle. Great White Fleet mechanical postcard, 3.5 x 5.5 in., titled Uncle Sam's Warships featuring portraits of Admiral C.S. Sperry and President Roosevelt on front, with panels that open up to show an accordion paste-on featuring images of different battleships, printed by Grove Hall Press, Boston, MA. Copyrighted by H.N. Dickerman, 1908. Printed card, 3.5 x 6.25 in., featuring small record, approx. 3 in. dia., stapled over printed portrait of William A. Comstock, Chairman Democratic State Central Committee of Michigan. The card includes the instructions, "Play on your phonograph. Do NOT detach from card. Use a new needle." With anti-Republican platform printed on verso. Envelope, 4.25 x 2.5 in., containing 6 puzzle cards, with the cover noting that when "properly matched, the enclosed cards will make perfect pictures of Nillson, Patti, Anderson, Langtry," all turn-of-the-20th century performers.
