AN EXTENSIVE RUN IN A HANDSOME BINDING OF 'THE MOST INTERESTING SPORTING PUBLICATION OF ITS TIME'. As Schwerdt states, this long-lived magazine was 'the paramount source of information for the historian of the chase ... there is hardly an incident of note in the whole field of sporting subjects which the student cannot find an account of in this monumental work ... hardly an artist of repute whose contributions did not enrich this work'. The many plates showcased the talent of Henry Alken A. Cooper, the Ferneleys, George Morland Sartorius, and numerous others in the heyday of British sporting art. The set comprises: vols 1-15, 21-30, 35-38, 44-45, 74-75, 94-100 and all vols. from 1843-1870 except 1855. Schwerdt II, pp.174-203. Sold as a periodical not subject to return. (95)
