Beschreibung:

The MG P-type was manufactured from 1934 to 1936. This two-door sports car used an updated version of the overhead camshaft, crossflow engine used in the 1928 Morris Minor and Wolseley 10 and previously fitted in the J-Type Midget of 1932 to 1934. The chassis was a strengthened and slightly longer version of that used in the J-Type with suspension by half-elliptic springs all round as well as rigid front and rear axles. Most cars were open two-seaters although some streamlined 'Airline Coupé' bodies were also made. The P-type was also available as a four-seater, a car that, unfortunately, suffered from a lack of power and poor rear ground clearance. Two thousand MG PAs were produced and in 1935 with a new PA open seat tourer cost £222. This MG PA presents in good order throughout, however, it must be noted that the engine and gearbox are not original and are from a later Morris 1000. The car started immediately when requested and the engine ran very smoothly with no adverse rattles or noises. Performance with the larger and more reliable 1098cc unit is brisk, resulting in this being an MG PA that is enjoyable and comfortable to drive. Supplied with the necessary side screens to offer protection in inclement weather, this MG comes with a V5 registration document, together with some additional paperwork.
