Handsome example of the third large folio edition of the King James Bible, a fine example of black letter printing on thick paper, an exceptionally nice copy. This copy is textually complete, and includes the rare map. It is missing only two leaves of "The Genealogies recorded in the Sacred Scriptures..." Both the map and the genealogies were optional for purchase and are often not present. A rare, textually complete copy with the map, seldom found thus. Herbert 353. Lot Amendments Condition: Title page trimmed to the border, mounted on backing paper, thus repairing a few small holes in the engraved border; expert repairs to small holes in the gutters of preliminary leaves affecting a few letters of text, neat repairs to edges of last few leaves; map trimmed close with some creasing and neat repairs; short archival repair to first leaf of Genesis (without loss of text); overall a fine, clean, and very desirable copy.
