THE DINNER SERVICE OF HENRY, 4TH VISCOUNT GAGE AN IMPORTANT GEORGE III SILVER SIXTEEN-PIECE DINNER SERVICE MARK OF PAUL STORR LONDON, 1812 Each piece with a foliage and gadrooned rim and a foliage and reeded double lion handle, each engraved twice with a coat-of-arms below a viscount's coronet, or with a crest below a viscount's coronet, comprising: A Pair of oval soup tureens, cover and liners, the liners with shell handles, each stamped '788' 17¾ in. (45.1 cm.) long; Four oblong entrée dishes and covers on Old Sheffield plated warming stands, the stands by Matthew Boulton each stamped '583' the stands 14¼ in. (36 cm.) wide Four circular entrée dishes and covers, each stamped '583' 11 in. (27.9 cm.) diam. Four sauce tureens and covers, stamped either '746' or '788' 9 7/8 in. (25 cm.) wide A pair of meat dishes, each stamped '583' 22¼ in. (56.5 cm.) long each piece fully marked 1,378 oz. (42,850 gr.) The arms are those of Gage, impaling Foley for Henry Hall Gage, 4th Viscount Gage of Castle Island (1791-1877) and his wife Elizabeth Maria (d. 1857), daughter of Hon. Edward Foley, who he married in 1813. (16)
