Boeing's first commercial design, the B-1 biplane flying boat, which was the only of its model ever built. Signed by Owles at the lower right. Owles was a British-born painter who immigrated to the United States shortly before WWI, during which he served as an aerial photographer in the Army Air Service; he later settled in Marin County, California. Lot Amendments Condition: Hint of soiling and foxing to image; margins lightly foxed and soiled, with framers' pinholes around outer margin and tape along lower edge of board, very good.
