Title: Ten Tri Monthly Reports and two Post Reports for Fort Reno in Dakota Territory, command by Captain Joseph L. Proctor Author: Place: Fort Reno, Dakota Territory Publisher: Date: July-October, 1866 Description: Printed forms filled out in ink. Signed by Captain Proctor. 27.5x78 cm (10¾x30¾”), folding to 27.5x10.4 cm (10¾x4¼”). Reports issued every ten days (Tri Monthly seems to mean three times a month), giving the number of men, how many sick, wounded, dead, etc., with other comments. The Post Reports are more detailed, naming the commissioned officers with descriptions of duties, and with other details including Record of Events, such as the troops “guarding Government stock escorting mail to and from Fort Laramie D.T. and the usual fatigue work necessary to the completion of a new post.” Fort Reno also known as Fort Connor or Old Fort Reno, was a wooden Fort established on August 15, 1865 by the United States Army in Dakota Territory in present-day Johnson County, Wyoming. The fort was built to protect travelers on the Bozeman Trail from Native American tribes. Lot Amendments Condition: Splitting along folds, some darkening and other wear, good to very good.
