"This, the best and most voluminous bibliography of bibliographies for close to two centuries, expands Labbé and offers a useful summary of seventeenth-century scholarship. About 6,000 titles are arranged alphabetically by first names of authors, followed by eleven detailed subject indices. The work is also interesting for the added brief biographies of bibliographers. A lawyer at Nîmes, Teissier left his native France in 1685 to become a court official and historian in Berlin" (Breslauer & Folter 82). (2)
