Serving in the 1st Sikh War with the regiment, he was severely wounded at the battle of Ferozeshuhur, 21/22 December 1845, resulting in the amputation of his left arm. As a result of this he was discharged as being unfit for further service at Chatham on 8 December 1846. Sold with copied service papers.
