Note: This painting shows the best of Susan Waters' portraiture: a light color ground and precisely painted costume, full-length rendering of a child done outdoors with an appealing pet, and a botanically accurate plant. Provenance: This painting has remained in a New Hampshire collection since it was purchased at Skinner thirty years ago.
