Album is 12x9". Fascinating and historically significant photographic record of air journey by three Junkers Ju51/3m trimotor aircraft from Germany south through Europe and across the Mediterranean all the way to Capetown, South Africa, and return. Includes aerial views of the vast continent, airport scenes with other airports, various cities such as Johannesburg, Pretoria, Capetown, Cairo, Durban, etc.; views of Rhodesia, Tanganyika, Sudan and other contries; native men and women, and much more. A number of the photographs include the Junkers aircraft, which was active from 1932 to 1945, and used for both civilian and military purposes. Most of the larger photographs with captions in German, either in pen or pencil. On the inside of the front wrapper is stapled a typed (carbon) notice from the USAAF, deescribing it as "Propagande - und Pressedienst. South Africa, flight... Photographs taken during a 54 day trip of three airplanes, type Ju 52/3m, showing Sudan, Rhodesia, South West Africa, Greece, etc..."
