Title printed in red and black, 13 section titles with woodcut armorial borders, 23 woodcut maps, including 8 full-page and 5 double-page, numerous woodcut illustrations of town views, historical events, portrait medallions, animals and coats of arms. (Occasional very light spotting, browning and staining, top corner of EE1 missing with early repair and text supplied in ink manuscript in a contemporary or near-contemporary hand, very light marginal worming to index.) 17th-century blindstamped pigskin over wooden boards, spine in six compartments, metal clasps, blue edges (extremities lightly rubbed). Provenance : copious ink annotation in a contemporary or near-contemporary hand, occasionally shaved -- Gieri Casura (bookplate).
