STRAVINSKY, Igor. One photograph and three photographic postcards inscribed and signed ("I. Stravinsky"), all to Dagmar Godowsky, 1921-1957. Together 4 pages. Fine images of the composer in various poses, including 1) the celebrated oblong portrait of Stravinksy seated at a piano, taken in 1929 by the Parisian studio of Boris Lipnitzki (known for his photographs of the large Parisian theatres in the late 1920s-30s) at the height of Stravinsky's career. With a personal inscription to Dagmar Godowsky (daughter of Leopold Godowsky the American piano virtuoso and composer), dated 1935; 2) well-known photograph from 1921 of Stravinsky seated next to the ballet impressario, Sergei Diaghilev, uninscribed; 3) photo of a pencil portrait by Picasso, 1917, inscribed on face in red ink by the composer. Picasso produced several portraits of Stravinksy in a similar vein and they collaborated on a post-war commission for Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, the neoclassical ballet Pulcinella (1920); 4) A sensitive bust portrait by Venturini, with long autograph message on verso, signed "I Stravinsky." Together 4 items. (4)
