STAG HUNTING -- HOWARD, Sir Robert (1626-1698). The Duell of the Stags: a Poem . London: for Henry Herringman, 1668. 4° (220 x 156mm). (Small repaired rust-hole in B4 with loss of a few letters, title a trifle spotted, lacks the final blank.) Maroon half morocco by Lloyd. ONLY EDITION of this allegorical poem set in Windsor Forest and dedicated to the Duke of Buckingham. Howard, the restoration poet, is best remembered for being Dryden's brother-in-law and author of The Committee . Wing H-2991. SOMERVILE, William (1675-1742). The Chace. A Poem . London: G. Hawkins and T. Cooper, 1735. 4° (255 x 193mm). Engraved frontispiece by Scotin after Gravelot. Contemporary mottled calf (extremities worn). Provenance : John Earl of Delawarre (bookplate).
