In 1828 The Red Barn Murder was a crime that caught everyone's attention and imagination. William Corder, the gentleman depicted in this group, was accused of shooting, strangling and stabbing Maria Marten a local girl and then burying her body under the floor of the infamous Red Barn. William Corder was arrested, tried, sentenced and hanged and the entire story resulted in a plethora of Staffordshire figures of the victim, the murderer, the judge and the Red Barn
Repair to left tree beginning at the middle of the trunk and including branches and leaves. Right tree with repair to branch and some leaves. Front left leg repaired. Mans arm repaired. Missing one bird on right side. Chipping of green paint around entire base.
