On the 1924 South Africa tour to England, the South Africans found themselves desperately short of bowlers, so Parker was 'plucked' from the Bradford League, and played in the first two Test matches and only one other first class game. He played no other first class cricket The following six lots relate to S.B. Joel's tour to South Africa 1924/25. With M.C.C. playing in Australia, what was in effect an England second team travelled to South Africa led by Lionel Tennyson under the auspices of S.B. Joel. The full tour included five unofficial 'Test' matches
