There is a prominent pattern of stable craquelure visible on the painted surface. There is a small spot of paint loss in the background at the lower left, and there are some raised dents to the canvas scattered at the edges and here and there throughout the composition. A slightly speckled texture to the surfaces also appears scattered near the edges. UV light reveals a thick varnish that fluoresces unevenly in areas. Some strokes of retouching are visible in the upper right corner, and some feathery strokes of retouching or strengthening scattered in the architectural setting Otherwise, only a few scattered strokes are visible here and there.
