(Very faint spotting confined to first few leaves.) Modern half calf. Provenance : Dr Wilkinson (contemporary ink ownership inscription) – Trinity College, Cambridge (cancelled stamp on English title). The sale catalogue of Smith's second library. Smith, who was British consul at Venice, sold his first collection to George III in 1762 for £10,000. It became the nucleus of the 'King's Library,' now in the British Library. De Ricci, pp. 54-55.
