Sir Peter Markham Scott (1909-1989) Two albums of twenty-four watercolours each depicting various species of wildfowl for 'Original Paintings of Ducks' by Jean Delacour the frontispieces signed 'Peter Scott' (lower right), all sheets individually signed and variously dated '1955-1963', and each with a printed explanatory key identifying each bird all pencil, pen and black ink and watercolour heightened with bodycolour and with gum arabic, on various shades of coloured paper including blue, grey and green the frontispieces (2) 10 5/8 x 14 in. (39 x 35.5 cm.); the watercolours 10 3/8 x 8 1/8 in. (26.3 x 20.6 cm.); and slightly smaller; the album 16 x 16 x 3 in. (40 x 40 x 8 cm.), in 20th century green morocco by Bayntun (Riviere), single gilt fillet on sides, spines ruled in gilt, title in gilt on front cover, spines and inner fillets (2)
