Lot of 9. TLS, signed by Pauline Starke (1901-1977), on her personal letterhead. To Tex Jordan. She enclosed a snapshot and let him know that she did not have any information about Art Acord. Starke was a star of silent film. 8 x 10 in. b-&-w photo of Bette Davis (1908-1989), inscribed to "Jerry" and signed by Davis. One of the greatest actresses in film history with 100+ film credits. 8 x 10 in. b-&-w photo of Ellen Burstyn (b. 1932). Inscribed and signed "To D.P. Thomes / Best Wishes / Ellen Burstyn." Dancer, model and actress, she is one of the few entertainers to win an Oscar, Emmy and Tony Awards. Universal Studios publicity still. 8 x 10 in. color photo of Tyne Daly (b. 1946) and Sharon Gless (b. 1943), publicity photo for "Cagney and Lacey." 8 x 11 in. page from Screen Play Magazine, Sept. 1931. With color portrait of Betty Compson, signed "My Best Wishes / Betty Compson." Compson got her start in silent movies, and won an Academy Award for her role in The Barker (1928), a transitional "part-talkie" film. 8 x 10 in. b-&-w photo of Rise Stevens (1913-2013), signed on verso. Stevens was a mezzo-soprano with the Metropolitan Opera of New York. 5 x 7 in. sepia photo of Cary Grant (1904-1986), signed "Best Always /Cary Grant." UK-born grant was the classic ("tall, dark, handsome") leading man, with over 70 film credits and two Academy nominations. 6,5 x 8,5 in. b-&-w photo, signed "Sincerely . Roland Drew." Possibly secretarial. Drew (1900-1988) appeared in films such as Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe, From Nine to Nine, and Hitler Beast of Berlin. Autograph of Rex Harrison (1908-1990) on sheet music of "The Rain in Spain" from My Fair Lady, the role earned Harrison both a Tony for the stage version and an Oscar for the film. He also earned a Tony for the role of Henry VIII in Anne of a Thousand Days (1949). Condition: Most in very good condition.
