Lot of 5, including: Photograph of a black airman by Evans Studio, Chanute Field, Ill., 5.25 x 7.5 in. with sleeve, signed Love, Bill on the mat. Bill sports an enlisted-man's cap insignia and cowhide B-15 jacket with removable fur collar. The 99th Pursuit Squadron, the first all-black unit in the U.S. Army Air Corps, known as the Tuskegee Airmen, was activated at Chanute Field on March 22, 1941. The 99th included pilots, aircraft mechanics, and other technical support. Photograph of a black airman in a a 4.75 x 6.875 in. sleeve, signed on the mat Best Always, Tilt Wallet photograph of the same airman, signed Tilt.
