Der 'Shiva-Lingam', auch 'Brahmanen-Ei' oder 'Welten-Ei' genannt, ist das abstrakte Symbol des hinduistischen Gottes 'Shiva' und steht aufrecht im Zentrum jedes Shiva-Tempels in Indien. Die aufrechte Form wird als Phallus des Gottes gedeutet, während der große farbige Einschluss als sein weibliches 'unruhiges' Gegenstück gilt. H. 20 cm, B. 11 cm, ca. 3400 g, Bronzemontierung H. 6 cm. -

The 'Shiva Lingam', also called 'Brahmanda egg' or 'world egg' is the abstract symbol of the Hindu god Shiva and is placed in a vertical position in every Shiva temple in India. The erect form is interpreted as the symbol of god's phallus while the redbrown lively inclusion is seen as its female counterpart. H. 20 cm, w. 1 cm, ca. 3400 g, bronze mount h. 6 cm. -
