FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING, with no mention of the Caldecott Award on the dust jacket and with the three paragraph blurbs on the front and back flaps. When Sendak's story won the Caldecott Award in 1964, first printings of the book were recalled so the medal sticker could be placed on the dust jackets. Hanrahan A58.
