Seltener Thangka des Avalokiteshvara-Ekadasamukha. Tibet, 19. Jh. Leinwand, 46 x 35 cm. Gefasst in originalen Brokatrahmen, 98 x 61 cm. Zentral der Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara-Ekadasamukha ("Der elf-gesichtige Herr, der auf die Welt blickt"). Elf Gesichter, das zehnte zornvoll, das elfte das Gesicht des Buddha Amitabhas. Seine acht Hände halten das Juwel der Erleuchtung, eine mala, einen Lotos, ein dharma chakra, einen Bogen sowie ein kleines Kundika-Glas mit Ambrosia. Die letzte Hand zeigt das varada mudra. Aufrecht auf Mondscheibe und Lotospodest stehend. Oberhalb Buddha Amitabha und Buddha Shakyamuni. Unten links Schriftzeichen, wohl Weihschrift. Rückseitig tibetische Segens-Schriftzeichen "Om, Ah, Hum". Altersspuren. Sehr seltene und feine Darstellung. The white Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara-Ekadasamukha ("The eleven-faced Lord gazing on the world") standing upright on a disc of a moon and a lotus pedestal. Eleven faces, the 10th wrathful and the 11th is the face of Buddha Amitabha. His eight hands holding the precious jewel of enlightenment, a mala, a lotus blossom, a dharma chakra, a bow and a small flask with ambrosia. The last hand showing the varada mudra. Above Buddha Amitabha and Buddha Shakyamuni. Characters at the lower left, presumably a consecration inscription. Backside with Tibetan blessing syllables "Om, Ah, Hum". Signs of age.
