Beschreibung:

RARITIES SHIPPED DIRECTLY FROM THE PRIVATE CELLAR OF SCHLOSS JOHANNISBERG Schloss Johannisberg is unquestionably the most famous of all German wine estates. The Schloss and its steeply sloping vineyards overlook the Rhine. Because of its prominent position the castle was virtually destroyed during the closing stages of the last war though the ancient cellars - and contents - remained intact, and the main building itself has been completely restored. MB Schloss Johannisberger, Riesling Rosalack Auslese--Vintage 1945 Rheingau. Fürst von Metternich A great but pitifully small vintage thanks to a hot dry summer and immediate post-war shortage of labour. Few were shipped and now rarely seen. Nevertheless a small stock remains in the historic cellars of the Schloss. Thanks to impeccable storage, provenance and benign acidity, rich but drying out. M.B. 1 bottle per lot
