July 24. 1918'; monogram booklabel; pencilled corrections in Sassoon's hand 2 pages; five loosely-inserted press clippings relating to Brooke, 2 annotated by Sassoon, and a loosely-inserted clipping from a bookseller's catalogue illustrating a Brooke manuscript annotated by Sassoon; sale of items from his library, Sotheby's London, 18 July 1991, lot 20, part). FIRST ENGLISH EDITION, INSCRIBED TO SASSOON BY EDWARD MARSH, THE EDITOR, on the day of publication and corrected by Sassoon on pp. cxvii (inserting 'an' before 'a-metrist') and cxxxvii (amending 'Banbury' to 'Baybury'); in later editions the first correction was incorporated, but the second printed as 'Badbury'.
